The house is located in the midst of land that has been farmed for centuries by the same family and exemplifies the typical architecture of the Minho region. It is surrounded by stables, outhouses and farm buildings, some of them adapted to their modern functions. The most valuable building, however, is the chapel, which dates from 1623 and possesses a curious retable of the same period. The house, shaded by a huge bougainvillea, has a glassed-in veranda, which is now the sitting room, and a wide porch with wooden pillars and railings, where you can sit and enjoy the view.
The house was converted in the 1980’s to “rural tourism” and still produces excellent “Vinho Verde”. There is a popular saying that stats: If you come Geraz to taste the wine, you will surely return another time”.
