This sculpture was offered to Mondim de Basto by the meritorious commendator Alfredo Álvares Carvalho Pinto Coelho.
Inaugurated on December 4, 1932, it was inspired by French republican monuments. The originality of this a beautiful ornamental piece stems from the fact that female figure representing Spring holds a torch, illuminating the whole ensemble.
