The beautiful Ponte (Bridge) da Misarela is situated above the clear-water Rabagão River, in the middle of Gerês, close to the Dam of Venda Nova, most precisely in Misarela Place, Ferral parish, in the municipality of Montalegre. 

This structure probably dates from medieval times, or at least of medieval architectural tradition, spectacularly framed in the landscape of dense vegetation.  The bridge is associated with an already famous legend, where the personality is the devil, therefore often it is nicknamed as "Devil's bridge".
