Nossa Senhora de Fátima Belvedere, located in the parish of Valença do Douro, is a small landscaped garden with granite benches, some shade trees and a small sanctuary in honour of the saint from which it takes its name. This belvedere stands at 372 metres high, while another in the village square stands at 397 metres high.
The views over the vineyards on ledges and over the long and winding river are amazing. This is indeed a magnificent landscape with the Douro River and its green valleys in the background, and some Port wine producing farms.
If you look to the west, you will be amazed by the natural beauty of the Douro valley as it flows to the river mouth. Notice the incredible successive walled ledges so typical of this World Heritage region.
