The area of Castro Laboreiro is one of the few areas of Entre Douro e Minho where the effects of introducing maize are felt more indirectly. This fact, motivated by the failure of acclimatization, allowed remaining forms of occupation and exploitation of the territory that are extinct or at least declining in the neighbourhood. The Trilho Interpretativo de Castro Laboreiro is a trail of small route (PR), marked and signalized according international rules. It runs by the hillside that joins the village of Castro Laboreiro to the upland allowing a general perception of the ingenious solutions found for the continuous human occupation of this area.
