Este Roman Bridge

Vila do Conde
Description

In the Touguinhó centre on the Este River, a link was established between the Beira Rio Street and the MS 525. In the threading of the bridge, near Beira Rio Street, a renovated watermill develops that is addorsed with a chapel, like an “Alminha”, with a fairly recent construction, with was an invocation to São João. On the bridge there are some steps with granite tables related to massive pontoon type pathways, linked to Azenhas. Nearby, a bridge stands to the East.
It displays a roadway in a single arch bridge built perfectly, no guards and a flagstone pavement. Its construction took place in the middle Ages.
