The municipality of Resende is one of the largest domestic producers of cherry, and this still remains, for most of the population, the main source of income for those who work the land.
This sculpture, of contemporary style, in a cherry shape, aims to honour the cherry as one of the most characteristic products of the region, and as a symbol of confirmation of the quality of this so appreciated and recognised fruit.
